Flinders Ranges Adventure and Culture
Our Earth Adventure 8 Day South Australian Experience takes you to the magnificent Flinders Ranges, about five hours north of the capital city of South Australia, Adelaide. The Flinders Ranges is an Australia icon that attracts many international and local visitors every year.
Estimated to be over 600 million years old, ‘The Flinders’ has a long Indigenous cultural heritage with the iconic red-ochre land being used by the local Adnyamathanha people for both medicinal and sacred purposes. Throughout the ranges you will see rock paintings, carvings and other sacred sites which have been around for thousands of years.
With wildlife including emus, kangaroos and yellow-footed rock wallabies roaming freely throughout the ranges, you are bound to stumble across several of them during your travels.
During you journey, you will visit several of these historic and cultural sites as well as experiencing several days of adventure. You will experience a day of abseiling down a 60m rock face at one of South Australia’s top climbing spots, spend a night sleeping in the unique Wilpena Pound, the heart of the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park, as well as mountain biking around the outside of ‘the Pound’ which will provide you with views that will never be forgotten.
You will get a true Australian camping experience throughout the journey, from sleeping in tents to cooking on camp cookers, and we are sure that the memories that you will gain with stay with you forever.

A major focus of the 8 day camp will be the immersion into the outdoors and conservation. The arranged activities reflect this with multiple educational and inspiring experiences such as conquering the great 60 metre abseil, visiting the historic indigenous art site and spending the day assisting in the preservation of the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park with help from the traditional Indigenous owners of the land. You’ll leave South Australia with excellent memories, knowledge of the South Australian Indigenous culture and a love for the outdoors.
